Buffalo Pedal Tours was started by me, Ken Szal, in September of 2014.
I am a huge Buffalo backer who has lived here most of my life. There is a renaissance going on in Buffalo & I wanted to add to it. I wanted to be able to show off the city in a unique way & when people got off the bike they would leave with a great impression of our city. From driving many tours, I can safely say that I have achieved what I was looking for. I love that when everyone gets off they congratulate me on the business and tell me how much fun they had and how they want to do it again. I also love the sense of community I get to foster.
We are proud that we contribute to many local charities. Groups that have received donations from us include the Buffalo Zoo, Children’s Hospital, Buffalo Hearing and Speech,Make a Wish, Sheas’ Buffalo Theater, Kevin Guest House, Evergreen Health Services, Buffalo Police Athletic League,Roswell Park, Tim Horton’s Camp, Friends of Carly, International Institute and the Friends of Night People.
Our pedal powered trolleys take groups of 15 (or up to 86 with all 6 bikes) out and around our city. Yes they are pedal powered. It is perfect for all types of occasions from the obvious bar tours and bachelor/bachelorette parties to birthdays, corporate outings and team building, all types of wild themes (take a look at the gallery or our Facebook page) that bring groups together. The way the seats are built stimulates conversation with everyone on the bike since you are next to or facing everyone. It is also nice that we have non-rider seats & a bench on the back, in case someone can’t pedal for some reason, this way they can still be a part of the occasion. Not only is our bike environmentally friendly but it travels at the perfect speed to take in everything you are passing and is a great photo opportunity.
We offer multiple bikes that can fit varying amounts of people for all different types of tours ranging from our city’s great architectural gems, picturesque historical rides, a tour of the greatest pubs, or customized tour.
